Pints of wine...fizzy or still!

The Government announced over the Christmas period (27th December) that a new 568ml size is to be authorised in pubs, clubs and supermarkets for still and sparkling wine. This has received some significant publicity as this equates to a pint measure.

The new size will be an addition and sit alongside existing approved measures for still and sparkling wine.

The Government Minister Kevin Hollinrake said:
“Innovation, freedom and choice – that’s what today’s announcement gives to producers and consumers alike. Our exit from the EU was all about moments just like this, where we can seize new opportunities and provide a real boost to our great British wineries and further growing the economy.”
